RESHAPE WASTE Stool / 2025
Developed as part of the ReshapeWaste research project led by AAU Design Lab and Industriens Fond this stool is our contribution to exploring new material cycles through design. The frame is constructed from reclaimed floorboards, while the seat is made from rejected acrylic sheets originally intended for the truck industry.
Throughout the process, we focused on the visual and structural qualities of the materials by embracing the strengths of the UV-resistant and durable acrylic. The acrylic seat plays with transparency, color, and light casting colored reflections and shadows. Scratches, bubbles, and other imperfections in the acrylic become integrated design features, forming a cohesive and honest expression through repetition.
The seat is assembled entirely without glue. Each acrylic slat clicks into place, allowing for easy disassembly and future replacement.
